Is ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level Certification Necessary For Getting a Job

The ISTQB Certified Tester, Advanced Level Certification, has become a major part of the testing career. The certification is meant to provide the knowledge and skills required for an examination that has as its objective the recognition of a test taker's skills and knowledge. In the testing world, there are many exams with multiple levels. But no exam holds the power of being THE exam, at least not for those testing for the first time.

The certification proves one's proficiency in the field of testing. That is to say, an examination attained at the Expert Level, or Intermediate Level shows one's competence in the field. Once attained, the ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level Certification does not expire. You can actually book your exams online through the site. The site itself offers testing experts for the various exams, which helps prepare for any exam. The tests comprise practical experience questions, which are among the most crucial parts of the entire test.

The ISTQB provides two options for the exams - the Practical Test (PTR) and the Model-based Testing (MBT). In the Practical Test, a student has to carry out the same procedure as is done in the real world. On the other hand, in Model-based Testing, a student is given inputs (in the form of questions and answers) via a test manager's computer-based program. The program generates the corresponding scenarios and gives corresponding responses. Hence, one gets the feel of how models respond under varying circumstances.

Many institutes offer the ISTQB certification. The institute that offers this certification is the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi) and is recognized by the ETSL. As part of their continuing education (CE) activities, most of the IIT Delhi resources offer the foundation level and the advanced level certifications of this course. It is worth mentioning that the foundation level exam is not held regularly; therefore, it is important to check for the exams' timings very carefully.

If you want to get the certification, you must hold at least the foundation level certificate. This is necessary to apply for the International Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) certification exams and the American Institute of Professional Testing (AIT), respectively. Only those students who have earned a degree in engineering or computer science from an accredited institution and who possess an original degree in management or information technology from an accredited university are eligible for the foundation level exams. Only candidates who pass the exam can apply for the advanced certification.

However, there is one essential requirement that candidates must fulfill before applying for the certification. Candidates who have already earned a bachelor's degree must complete two additional years of bachelor's degree in Information Systems or one year of relevant courses in applied software testing. It is important to note that candidates who have already earned a bachelor's degree are not eligible for the advanced certification. Only Bachelors's degree holders can join the iSQI CTAL-TA_Syll2019 VCE - iSQI Practice Test certified tester program. In case you are interested in becoming a certified software testing expert, you should do your homework well and find out about this program before making a final decision.
